What will be expected of students
Here at The Idea Tree, we believe that in order to get the most out of your education, there needs to be ownership of your path. In order to see the value, there are times where you need to create it yourself. Here are some expectations of an enrolled student:
- Accept a challenge that has been created by faculty and community and infused with practical, hands-on experiences
- Work in a learning environment that suits your learning style
- Collaborate with community members
- Create learning objectives based on the accepted challenge
- Commit to embracing your voice as an agent of change, both on campus and elsewhere
- Create your own schedule of work time, dependent on your challenge and your learning needs
- Embrace flexibility in your schedule with no bells and no periods.
- Represent your teammates on expert panels and committees for improving the school
- Work with your advisor and counselor to maintain A-G requirements
- Present your findings and results with a juried panel of community members, teachers, students, and experts in the field of whichever challenge you accept
